Library Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are your Checkout Policies?
    You may checkout as many as 5 books and 2 movies at one time. Books may be kept for two weeks unrenewed, but may be renewed so long as they are not on reserve. Movies may only be kept for 3 days.
  • How do your Late Fees Work?
    When a book is more than 1 week late, the patron is charged $0.10 for each day afterwards that it is still not returned. Late fees are assessed automatically daily at 11:59 PM. When a movie is more than 3 days late, the patron is charged $0.50 for each day afterwards that it is still not returned. If any item is more than 90 days overdue, the patron will be assessed a replacement fee IN ADDITION TO the late fees already assigned.

    Late fees may be waived by library personel solely at the library's discretion.
  • What is your RESERVATION Policy?
    Any item may be reserved by a registered user. When the item becomes available, it is reserved for the user. The user will be sent an email notice when this happens and is then given 7 days from the time of the email in order to pick it up. After the 7 days have expired the book will be placed on the shelf. Reservations are a free service of the library.
